Concordia’s Varsity Scholar’s Bowl Team competed at Abilene High School on Thursday, November 21, 2019.
Concordia beat Lincoln 80 – 0. Then they lost to Washington County 30 – 60. The team went on a winning streak against Bennington (50-10), Minneapolis (50-10), and Sacred Heart (55-20).
After going 4 – 1 in pool play, there was a three-way tie with Washington County, Concordia, and Sacred Heart. After following KSHSAA guidelines for breaking ties, it was determined that Washington County was 1st in pool play and Concordia was 2nd because we had beaten Sacred Heart in head-to-head competition. So Concordia moved on to semi-finals. The team competed against Clay Center from the other pool, and we won 60-0. This moved us to the Championship round. In the championship round, Concordia faced Washington County again. However, this time when Concordia faced Washington County, the team was triumphant, winning 50-30!
