Junior High Wrestling · Panthers Fall on Criteria

It wasn’t until the  8th criteria (most 1st points) did the Concordia JH Wrestling team see their second dual loss of the season.

On Tuesday night the Panthers traveled to Marysville for a pair of league duals. The first dual of the night would see the Concordia Panthers against the hometown Marysville Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were the Concordia Invite Champions 2 weeks prior to the dual. The Panthers jumped out to a 36-6 lead to start the dual. Then came roaring back the Bulldogs. Going into the final match of the night the Panthers were down 54-48. Concordia’s Reese Dorman came through for the Panther’s and picked up a fall to tie the dual. After going to the scores book it was determined that Marysville had scored 1st in more matches than Concordia did (8 matches to 7). Giving Concordia their second loss of the season.
The Panthers turned right around and wrestled league opponent Wamego. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Panthers never trailed in the dual and pulled away with a 64-48 victory over the Red Raiders. This brought the Panthers to a dual record of 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in league.
The Panthers will be back in action Tuesday as the Junior Varsity will compete in Salina.
