Panthers News · COVID Update: CJSHS Activities Suspended Until At Least 11/25

Panther Nation,

Based on conversations with the BOE, administrative team, and health care community, it has been determined that CJSHS will be moving to remote instruction starting this Wednesday November 11th (teacher plan day) for a minimum of 2 weeks.  Students will have Wednesday off and begin remote instruction on Thursday. Please reference information from superintendent Breese regarding more classroom instruction information.

All extra-curricular activities will be suspended during this time period as a method to reduce the spread of COVID19 within our community. This includes the scheduled showings of our play this week.  We believe this is appropriate action provided the rate of spread within our community among other concerning indicators concerning the district adopted gating criteria. All competitions, practices, events and outside groups utilizing district facilities are prohibited beginning November 11th until otherwise announced by the district. Outside groups may utilize district facilities beginning Monday November 30th

We will attempt to reschedule Junior High competitions if possible. This will also delay the beginning of High School Winter sports practices. Wednesday November 25 will be the first allowed day of practice. The first official practice may not begin any earlier, but program head coaches may opt to identify a later start date. Head coaches may require mandatory team google meets to review Xs and Os while in person practice is prohibited. Online participation when appropriate is still allowed. This applies to debate/forensics/scholars bowl etc.

During this time, it is critical that our community be cognizant of decisions being made in order to mitigate the spread of this virus and get our students back to in person instruction and involved in activities. Wear a mask in public settings, social distance, stay away from large crowds, and stay home if you are sick.
